Topic: How have drivers respond in real world crash and near crash
scenarios?
The presentation will discuss the findings from a series of recent
studies that were conducted from the SHRP-2 (Second Strategic Highway
Research Project) Database. The SHRP2 Naturalistic Driving Study was a
major study where over 3500 drivers drove specially equipped vehicles
for a period of 3 years which included over half a million trips. In
that time, drivers were involved in more than 4200 crashes and near
crashes in their day to day driving. In the webinar, we will go over
each crash type and discuss how different factors; internal and external
influence driver's response in emergency scenarios.
